Review:
Aeotec Smart Home Hub - Smartthings
Google Home/Alexa:
Controlling a Smart Home is of course not complete without voice control. This is not built into the hub by default, but we can use a Google Home Mini or Amazon Alexa for this.
We will be testing this with a Google Home Mini.
To install:
To start the installation, we go to the Google Home APP, we see directly at the top of the Smartthings hub to start the installation. If this is not the case, you can follow the steps below:
Press the plus sign.
Go to the "Set up device" section.
And choose the bottom option "I've already installed something".
Then search for Smartthings
Then you will be asked for permission.
Now that the GH is connected to the Smartthing hub, see also my devices are on the home screen.
Setup screens:
Such a link is very nice, but what can we do exactly?
We can ask the GH for the following matters:
Sensors:
"Hey Google..."
What is the temperature in space x
Is the door x open?
Relief:
"Hey Google..."
Turn on lamp x
Turn off lamp x
Set lamp x to a certain color
Other:
"Hey Google..."
Start vacuuming
Turn down the TV volume
You can also start scenes which can be useful for example to start your line when you go to sleep.
