Alecto Weather Station - WS-5500
Installation:
Installing this weather station is not very complicated. The first step is to supply power to the indoor unit by connecting the supplied adapter. You can place 3 AAA batteries as an extra backup. These ensure that the data is saved in the event of a power failure.
Now we can move on to the outdoor unit. We need to fix all the loose parts first. These are the rain gauge, wind catcher and wind direction vane. Turn the first one so that the marking is right above the unit. You tighten the windcatcher with a screw. You can only put the wind direction vane on it in 1 way and it must also be secured with a screw. Make sure everything can move freely (by blowing against it).
Placing outdoor unit:
Now we can place the outdoor unit. As already mentioned, it has a built-in solar panel to provide the whole with power. As a backup we still have to place the batteries. This is what we do first. A tip is also given to use lithium batteries, because they are more resistant to the cold.
The outdoor unit must be fixed to a pole. This is not included. When attaching, make sure everything is level. This is especially important for the rain gauge. There is a small spirit level built in next to the water sensor.
You also need to make sure that the unit (the arrow) is pointing north. To connect it to the indoor unit, we have to hold a paperclip in the reset button for 3 seconds. The LED will light up red (4 seconds) and then light up every 16 seconds.
Then check whether the values are entered. The manual states that this can sometimes take more than 1 day until all values are received. So be patient.
