Bold smart Cylinder SX

Installation:

According to the Bold website, you can install the lock without pulling wires, and within 3 minutes. We will see if this is also the case. First step is to download the APP. There is an APP for iOS and Android, which you can of course find in the Apps store and at Google Play. I have an Android device so I test it with this.

If you have the APP, create an account with your mobile number. An SMS will be sent to you for verification. After this, a verification will also be sent to the specified email address. Then I was registered and I was able to add the lock.

So there is a two-step authentication method available. Very safe.

Installation of the lock:

To install the lock you have to hold the button for 3 seconds. The lock will then enter learning mode, after which you can link it to the APP/your account. You can do this by pressing the button in the APP and the button on the lock. I did not succeed at first but this was because I kept the button pressed for too long.

Then install the lock in the door. You first take out the old cylinder. You can do this by loosening the 2nd screw on the side of the door from above. Then measure the cylinder (or put it next to the Bold). This size must match. If this is not the case, you can use the extension pieces that are included. If everything is correct, put the Bold in the door and screw it back on.
