Fibaro Walli Dimmer

Installation on Domoticz:

We are going to install this dimmer on the open source smart home system from Domoticz in collaboration with an Aeotec Z-wave USB stick. This uses the open z-wave protocol.

We start with the installation of the dimmer in the wall socket. A diagram is included how you can connect it. This is possible with a blue (N) and without (2- or 3-wire system).

When everything is properly connected, we supply the dimmer with power. The LED ring will light up red and then flash blue. After this, the calibration of the connected lamp starts. You see the lamp go on / off for a moment and sometimes flash. If everything is successful, the LED will light up green and then light up white.

Now we can add it. You can do this by logging into the web interface of Domoticz and going to the menu item "setup" and going to "hardware". Then press the setup at the Aeon Labs controller and press include node. There will be a popup that the controller is in learning mode.

Now we also have to activate this on the Walli Dimmer. You can do this by clicking the on button 3x. The LED will light up Yellow and then turn white in color. Domoticz gives an immediate notification that it has been found.

After a while, I see all functionalities appear on my devices. As expected, everything works as it should.

Control:

You can switch the Walli on and off and determine the dimming level. You also see the current consumption and the total consumption. The Walli also has a scene/click option, but unfortunately you cannot use this. You could activate something with a double click.

Example event:

When the sun goes down we turn on the Walli.
