Frient Intelligent Heat Alarm

Conclusion:

With this sensor from Friend you can detect if your house is on fire. It does this by measuring the temperature if it exceeds a certain value, it will send an alarm signal to your smart home controller. By linking to your controller you can make it really smart. You could send a notification or, for example, turn on all lights or turn off certain devices.

This sensor therefore does not detect smoke, which is an advantage in some situations. You can imagine that some smoke is released in the kitchen when the potatoes are burned. Of course, this does not mean that everything burns down. The alarm will then not go off and you prevent unwanted alarms.

It is probably the case that this method of detection will respond somewhat more slowly than smoke. After all, the fire has to be a bit far away to measure the temperature difference.

It is powered by a CR123A battery that you will find in more smart home products. It is quite compact and a foot/bracket is included to properly attach it to your ceiling.

The price is also okay because it costs € 49.95.

Less chance of false alarms
Compact

Support for other controllers not yet in order
LED blinks occasionally (and this cannot be turned off)
