Frient Motion Sensor Pro

Conclusion:

A motion sensor should not be missing in your Smart Home system. As the name suggests, you can detect movement with this. Super handy to automatically switch a light on or off, for example. But also useful to determine whether there are unwanted guests in the house.

This sensor is made by Friend, a start-up manufacturer in Smart Home products. It works via the wireless Zigbee protocol. It is not super compact with its 70 x 70 x 21 mm, but it has a sleek design.

In addition to the motion detection, it has a built-in temperature and light sensor. The whole is powered by 2 AA battery, so you don't have to change it for 3 years.

This sensor also has a tamper alarm built in but, unfortunately, this does not work in the controllers we tested.

Various hanging options are included. For example, there is a bracket to attach it to the ceiling, and a bracket is also included to place it upright.

It is for sale for 34.95 euros.
