Conclusion:

With this plug from Friend you can remotely switch various devices on or off. Think of lamps, coffee machines, TVs and stereos. You place it between your socket and the connected device.

It measures the current consumption and the total consumption of the connected device. Handy to see what a device uses. You can save energy this way by not leaving it on unnecessarily.

The plug stands out because it is very compact. It's almost as big (small) as your outlet. It has a button on the top to turn it on/off. It also lights up when you are on. Unfortunately this cannot be turned off.

It is for sale for 37.95 which makes it not the cheapest option.

Good to note is that it currently only works with the Homey and the SmartThings hub.
