Home Assistant

APP:

A good home automation system does not, of course, need an APP, because everything has to be done by itself. But being able to turn a light on / off is nice to have an APP for this. Of course HASS also has an APP. After downloading and installing (Android) I try to log in but I notice that only password is requested and no username. This also prevents logging in. Now it appears that this APP is no longer maintained. So there is no APP.

Fortunately, you can also request HASS via the browser. This works great and therefore you immediately have all the options at your disposal. What you have to realize is that HASS only runs in your own network as standard. It is therefore not easy to reach from the outside. You will therefore have to arrange this yourself. This is explained in detail on the HASS website: https://www.home-assistant.io/docs/configuration/remote/. Certainly no plug and play installation.
