Review:
HomeWizard P1 - How to save energy

Conclusion:
This P1 meter from HomeWizard does what it should do, which is to give you insight into your energy consumption. The installation is super easy and requires little technical knowledge. The steps in the APP are also well explained so everyone should be able to figure this out.
The APP is simple but logical and the overviews are easy to view. You need a subscription to use the advanced options. This costs 0.99 p / month, it is a pity that this is not free on the other hand, it is not a mega amount either.
If you activate this subscription you will get the following options:
- Your data will be kept for longer than 12 months
- You will receive notifications in the event of a noticeable deviation in your consumption
- You get an analysis of hidden consumers
- You can export the data to excel (csv)
- You gain insight into the individual phase of your P1 meter. This allows you to see exactly what the consumption is per phase.
- You get "solar tasks" with this you can automatically show a switch on automatically when there is a lot of solar yield.
If you don't want to have a subscription but do want to use this extra function, you have the option of making a connection with a smart home controller. Such as the Homey or Home Assistant, for example. This keeps your data local and you can do whatever you want with it.
It is of course nice to see what your consumption is, but saving does not happen automatically. To do this you can do an analysis. Would you be able to find out, for example, how much your TV consumes and what it consumes in standby mode. But also think about how much gas you use when you take a shower.
Based on these insights, you can really turn off your TV more often or take a shorter shower.
A small point that we miss in the APP is that the graph cannot be converted from kWh values to euros. This would be a good addition.
So: are you looking for a way to keep an eye on your energy consumption? Then the HomeWizard P1 is a great option.
