HomeWizard P1 - How to save energy
Installation:
All well and good, but how do you install this P1 meter? Fortunately, this is childishly simple and everyone should be able to figure it out. What you should pay attention to is whether the P1 meter needs a power supply. This depends on the age of your smart meter (SMR 5 or lower). You can find out by looking up the meter or connecting the HomeWizard. If the LED then lights up WHITE, it has sufficient power. If nothing lights up at all, it has no power and you can supply it with power via a standard microUSB adapter.
The next step is to download the HomeWizard APP. This is available for Android and iOS. There are some different steps, including creating an account and specifying the location of your home. When we have gone through all this we come to the installation of the P1 meter.
To add it, we need to turn the P1 into a WiFi hotspot so that you can connect with your phone. You can do this by pressing and holding the button on the front until the LED lights up blue. Now we can also move on to the next step. Make sure you know the password of your own WiFi network. You must enter this. After a few steps we have a connection and we see the LED light up green and we can view the data.

Energy+ Subscription:
You can take out a subscription with this P1 meter. This costs 0.99 p/month. With this subscription you get extra functions at your disposal. Like:
- Your data will be kept for longer than 12 months
- You will receive notifications in the event of a noticeable deviation in your consumption
- You get an analysis of hidden consumers
- You can export the data to excel (csv)
- You gain insight into the individual phase of your P1 meter. This allows you to see exactly what the consumption is per phase.
- You get "solar tasks" with this you can automatically show a switch on automatically when there is a lot of solar yield.
These functions are not necessarily necessary for normal use, but they can help you to gain a better insight and to save more. You can cancel it monthly, so trying for 1 month can't hurt.
