HomeWizard P1 - How to save energy
We will also install this P1 meter on the free open source package of Home Assistant. You can run this package on various hardware. Including a cheap Raspberry PI 3 which we also use for this test.
If you add the P1 to this, you have the advantage that you can keep everything local, you do not need a subscription and of course you can make your home even smarter.
Installation:
Installing is super simple. You go to settings, devices, click on new integration and search for HomeWizard there. After a few clicks it is added. Glad this all works so flawlessly.
Operation:
Now you can also view the consumption (current/total) of your electricity and gas in the HASS. All real time again.
Energy:
We can also use the HomeWizard in the Energy section. This gives us even better insights. It takes a while for the values to come in.

Of course you can think of anything to keep track of your energy consumption. We make a rule whereby, if the consumption exceeds 4500 W, we will receive a notification on our telephone.
