Thinka

We can of course look at this beautiful white box for a long time, but I think it is better to install it. To start the installation, we take the hub out of the packaging. When you remove the hub, part of the packaging remains attached to the hub. To get it loose you have to unscrew the back plate.

We then provide the whole with power and insert a UTP cable. It's nice that this controller doesn't work via WiFi, which makes things a bit more stable. I see the LEDs on the front light up briefly in green, then red and purple. After a few seconds, the center LED will turn green.

This will probably have to do with everything being okay. Now we go to https://setup.thinka.eu to start the setup. Here you will be asked for a serial number. It's on the bottom of the box and on the bottom of the controller.

I then see that I am immediately redirected to my local environment and then enter a password. This is a bit strange because I have not yet created an email address or account. I'll just do a factory reset because probably the hub I have has already been used by someone else. You will then be asked to press the reset button. Uuuh, unfortunately I can't find it on the hub, but after some google work I find out that I have to hold the button at the top for 10 seconds until the LED starts flashing and then hold it again for 10 seconds.

After checking with Thinka, it turns out that my version was not reset. Can happen of course.

When everything is rebooted I go back to https://setup.thinka.eu and now I also get to the "welcome" screen. Here I have to enter my name and email address to register. Then I have to enter a password to keep things secure. After this I get to the screen to add devices.

Now that we have done the basic installation, we need to add a device.
