Xiaomi Human Motion Sensor

Conclusion:

With this sensor you can detect movements. Unique is that it is super small so you can process it almost unobtrusively in your house. It has no extra bells and whistles such as a lux or temperature sensor. There is therefore no tamper / tamper sensor. This makes it less suitable for an alarm system. Now it is so because of its size that it is quite difficult to get it off the wall without being detected. But if you are looking for super safety then this sensor is not for you.

He uses the Zigbee protocol and therefore the support with the tested controllers is not yet optimal. For example, I could not add it on the Vera Plus or ZipaTile. The power is supplied by a button cell and there is no possibility to connect it to a fixed power supply.

Another point of attention is that there are no configuration options available. For example, you cannot set the sensitivity because it can be quite annoying if you have cats. It is for sale between € 10 and € 15.

Another version of this sensor is the Xiaomi Smart Home Aqara Human Motion Sensor. This also has a built-in light sensor. Of course we will also provide this with a review.

So: Are you looking for a motion detector without fuss and which is super small. Then the Xiaomi Human Motion Sensor is your buddy.
